Three's a crowd but Four's a Rafferty

I could tell that the new spiderettes weren't growing too much, so figured it was about time to release Moses of some of his spiderettes and create a lovely new plant!

Because I already have a very busy family of little spider plants, I thought for this one I'd create a bigger fuller plant by combining multiple spiderettes in one!

I started with a bigger pot (bigger even than Miles' one!), filled it with houseplant soil mix (and watered at points to make it compact as I went), and used a chopstick to dig in some holes, starting with the centre.

Here's the biggest spiderette going in the centre!

I forgot to photograph all the spiderettes but here are 2 of the other 3 I put in the pot (so 4 in total).

An in-process pic!

And introducing: Rafferty!

The name means abundance, prosperity, floodtide... Which is appropriate for a spider plant made of multiple spiderettes!

Here he is next to papa Miles.

And here are the remaining spiderettes, freed up to grow some more...
