Today I noticed Callidora was looking a bit dry.
She's been looking great recently. Lots of leaves (though some a little curly) and thanks to twisting/repositioning her, the main stalk/trunk is righting itself up again in a little S curve.
I decided to try and change the soil. The old stuff was compost from mum and dad's, sitting in an old bread liner. (Actually looking back, I think this was houseplant mix? But if so, I'm not sure how what happened next could have happened...) But I know now from talking to the garden centre workers that you should use specific soil for houseplants, otherwise you might get flies etc.
I took her out (a lot of wiggling) and brushed off the soil, and to my surprise, a worm wriggled out! Well I can't imagine he was happy to have been trapped in a tiny pot all this time.
A lot of Callidora's thin long roots broke off too, so I hope she'll be alright and not too stressed, especially given it's winter.
I put her back in her home with lots of fresh wormless proper-houseplant soil, watered her with a few drops of fertiliser, and placed her back on her spot on the piano. I hope she'll be a little happier.
